UCTalent is partnering with a cutting-edge Berlin-based software company to build out their engineering team in Vietnam. We are seeking a highly skilled Full-Stack Software Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience, a passion for leveraging AI-driven development, and no direct management responsibilities.
In this pivotal full-time role, you will ship production features end-to-end, from APIs and data to integrations and React UIs, working directly with teams in Vietnam and Berlin. This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage team, focusing on high-impact delivery using a modern stack (Spring Boot, React) while strategically transitioning a legacy Grails application.

Responsibilities
- Ship production features end-to-end, encompassing APIs, data management, third-party integrations, and React UI development.
- Utilize AI coding tools like Claude Code daily for writing new code, refactoring existing systems, developing tests, and debugging complex issues, employing prompt engineering with constraints and verification loops.
- Critically review, harden, and, when necessary, reject AI-generated code, taking full accountability for all delivered software.
- Oversee the transition of a live Grails application for a defined period, ensuring stability and a smooth handover as the stack evolves to Spring Boot + React.
- Actively contribute to maintaining high standards of architecture, code quality, and system maintainability across the codebase.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering teams located in Vietnam and Berlin.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience shipping production-grade software.
- Demonstrated daily use of AI coding tools, specifically Claude Code, on real product development work (beyond demos).
- Strong proficiency in Java, with production experience in Spring Boot preferred. Experience with Grails or another JVM web stack is acceptable if you can achieve rapid productivity.
- Proven experience with production-level React development.
- Exceptional judgment in evaluating, rewriting, or rejecting AI-generated code to ensure quality and correctness.
- A strong commitment to completing projects and delivering tangible outcomes.
Preferred Requirement
- Prior experience with Spring Boot in production environments is highly advantageous.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, small team environment where focus is on rapid production delivery.
