About the Job
This Technical Lead/Director role at our client focuses on shaping the future of gaming infrastructure. It requires an 80% hands-on coding contribution using Golang and React/Angular, combined with 20% leadership in mentoring staff and advising the CEO on technical strategy.The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of software engineering experience, strong system design skills, and expertise in AWS environments, with a drive for AI-enabled workflows.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical direction across backend, frontend, cloud, and platform architecture while enabling teams to execute quickly and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality, scalable code using Golang and Frontend: React/Angular (80% Hands-on Coding)
- Take full ownership of the platform's core infrastructure, ensuring high performance, stability, and reliability at scale.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Staff Backend and SRE engineers, fostering a high-velocity engineering culture.
- Serve as a trustable and proactive technical partner to the CEO, advising on software packages and architectural decisions.
- Architect seamless real-time communication services and APIs to deliver delightful interactions for players.
- Own technical strategy and architecture across platform initiatives.
- Lead engineering execution from concept to production delivery.
- Build and scale distributed systems using Go while operating within mixed technology environments including Java.
- Guide frontend architecture and engineering quality across Angular and ReactJS.
- Define and evolve cloud architecture on AWS.
- Partner with Product and leadership teams to translate business goals into technical outcomes.
- Build high-performing teams and mentor engineers across multiple disciplines.
- Drive engineering excellence, quality, and operational standards.
- Introduce AI-enabled workflows to improve engineering effectiveness and team productivity. Be extremely active experimenting with AI-driven pipelines. Heavily integrating AI into your work.
- Create a culture of ownership, experimentation, and rapid iteration.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with technical leadership responsibilities.
- Strong expertise in Go and familiarity with Java environments.
- Strong frontend architecture understanding across Angular and/or ReactJS.
- Deep experience designing and operating AWS environments.
- Experience leading platform, architecture, or fullstack engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of scalable system design and technical tradeoffs.
- Experience working in fast-moving product organizations.
- Exposure to Web3 products or blockchain ecosystems.
- Strong ownership mentality with product-first thinking.
- Experience in GameTech, growth platforms, or consumer-scale products.
